Alex G. Campbell, 95, a lifelong resident of Milton township, died Apr 27, 1995 at his home in Rapid City. 

Mr. Campbell became a rural mail carrier on Apr 1, 1919, serving Route No 1 and No 2 in Rapid City, until his retirement on Dec 31, 1965. He enjoyed his family, friends, gardening, bowling. He was an avid reader and enjoyed being in the outdoors hunting and fishing. 

He was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association, the Michigan United Conservation Club and the National Rifle Association. 

He was born on Apr 21, 1900, in South Milton Township, the son of Alex and Abigail (Hussey) Campbell. In 1920, in Traverse City, he married Maxine Whiteman who preceded him in death in 1959. In 1963, he married Vera (Hatch) Balcom of Muskegon who survives. 

Also surviving are a daughter, Gray (Richard) Wagerson of Birmingham; a son in law, Bill Rogalski of Maple Heights, OH; five grandchildren, John Rogalski, Valerie Rogalski, Deborah (Charles) Grombala, Lucinda (James) Pixley, and Susan (Greg) Payne; five great grandchildren, Katherine and Elizabeth Pixley, Andrew, Rebecca and Joseph Payne. 

Preceding hi in death were a daughter, Joan Rogalski; three sisters, Ada, Iris, and Grace; and a brother, Gordon. 

Funeral services were held Sat, Apr 29, at the Covell Funeral Home in Elk Rapids with the Rev. Ray Sundell officiated. Burial was in Milton Township Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
