Adelbert C. Plummer, age 76, retired superintendent, passed away Wed, Feb 17, 1999.
He was born Mar 25, 1922 in Metamora, to the late James and Ruth (Kile) Plummer.
He married Theresa Krakker Mar 23, 1941 in White Lake.
Mr. Plummer was a 1939 graduate of Hadley High School, served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, 1943 to 1945, received his teaching certificate from Lapeer Co. Normal 1940, Bachelor’s Degree, CMU, 1947, Master Degree, U of M, 1960 and continued his education at MSU.
Mr. Plummer taught at the education department in CMU as supervisor of student teachers and was director of student teachers in Traverse City for CMU.
Mr. Plummer was Superintendent at Fife Lake, Weidman, Kinde, Marlette, and Bangor John Glenn Schools. He was a member of the Marlette First Presbyterian Church and Elder.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; Helen and Paul Perry (daughter) of Marlette, Barbara and Art Woods (daughter) of Marlette; Mick and Susan Plummer (son) of Germany; Edward and Bunny Plummer (brother) of Oxford; Margaret Kile (special aunt) of Owosso; nine grandchildren: Aaron, Mark,
